Siena Jazz has achieved a major success, securing €1,634,295 in funding from the PNRR “Next Generation EU” call.
This milestone will allow the realization of the “JazzAble” project, conceived and presented by Siena Jazz in collaboration with the G. Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara and the CPM Music Institute in Milan. In line with Italy’s most prestigious institutions, such as the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, the Turin Conservatory, and the Florence Academy of Art and Fashion, JazzAble aims to:
· Promote the development of young jazz talents through innovative, high-quality educational pathways;
· Foster the internationalization of Italian jazz through cultural exchanges and collaborations with foreign institutions;
· Preserve and enhance the jazz musical heritage through research, documentation, and dissemination activities.
The official presentation of the project will take place on April 30 at 4:00 PM in the Sala Sant’Ansano at the Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex, coinciding with International Jazz Day. This symbolic moment highlights Siena Jazz’s commitment to promoting jazz as a tool for intercultural dialogue and peace.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Siena Jazz, in collaboration with the Fondazione Antico Ospedale Santa Maria della Scala, will offer the public a unique sensory experience: the Blind Concert. This “concert in the dark” allows attendees to experience jazz in a new and immersive way, stimulating the senses and encouraging reflection on jazz as a universal language.
