How to find us

By train

Siena is connected to the Milan-Florence-Siena, Rome-Chiusi-Siena, Florence-Empoli-Siena, Pisa-Empoli-Siena railway lines. Check www.trenitalia.com for fares, routes and timetables. From the 2020 winter timetable, some Frecciarossa are available, on the High Speed line between Rome and Milan, which stop in Chiusi on the two tracks.

From the train station you can reach the Fortezza Medicea, home of Siena Jazz, in a few minutes by taxi or bus in the direction of Piazza Gramsci.

By Bus

Siena, a university city, has a decent connection service with numerous cities in Italy, including Milan, Rome, Florence, Bologna, Pisa, Perugia, Naples, Bari.

All buses arrive directly at Piazza Gramsci a few hundred metres from the Fortezza Medicea, home of Siena Jazz, or terminate at the railway station from which you can quickly reach the Fortezza Medicea by taxi or bus in the direction of Piazza Gramsci.

You can get to Siena by Flixbus from Florence and vice versa. The departure for Siena is not from the centre of Florence, but from Villa Costanza, terminus of the T1 line of the Florentine Tramway. It is located along the A1 motorway, which also has a convenient interchange car park for the historic centre of Florence.

By car

From Milan: take the A1 motorway in the direction of Rome, exit at the Florence-Impruneta junction, take the Florence-Siena 4-lane motorway, exit at the Siena Porta San Marco junction and follow the signs for the centre, the stadium, La Fortezza car park.

From Rome: take the A1 motorway towards Milan, exit at the Val di Chiana junction, follow the signs for Siena along the S.S. 326. 5 km from Siena, turn off for the Siena Sud ring road, follow it to Florence, exit at the Siena Porta San Marco junction and follow the signs for the centre, the stadium, La Fortezza car park.

From Genoa: take the A12 motorway towards Pisa, at the Viareggio Camaiore junction take the A11 towards Lucca-Florence, take the A1 at the Firenze Nord junction towards Rome, continue for 15 km, exit at the Firenze Impruneta junction, take the Firenze-Siena expressway, exit at the Siena Porta San Marco junction and follow the signs for the centre, the stadium, La Fortezza car park.
