National Jazz Academy:
education, research, and production
Since 1977, SJU has represented a landmark for the education, research, and promotion of jazz music.
Located in the Medici fortress in Siena, it is the only non-state institution authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR) to issue degrees in Higher Artistic and Musical Education.
Research and Production
Siena Jazz is actively involved in research and production projects at the national, European, and international levels, with the goal of promoting and spreading jazz culture worldwide.
Through collaborations with institutions, artists, and research centers, the association develops initiatives focused on professional development, educational training, and the enhancement of live performance. These projects serve as a creative and experimental laboratory where tradition and innovation meet, contributing to the growth of the contemporary jazz scene.
