A panel discussion dedicated to the theme of gender equality in jazz brings together female musicians, faculty and representatives of international institutions committed to promoting equity and inclusion. The meeting, titled“Bridging Gender Gaps through Musical Practices,” is moderated by Francesca Remigi, a musician and lecturer at Siena Jazz, and also features the artistic and educational director of Siena Jazz, Francesco Bigoni.

The debate will serve as a moment for discussion and the sharing of experiences, best practices, and strategies to foster greater female representation and gender balance in institutions, festivals, and educational pathways related to jazz. Through direct testimonials and dialogue between professionals from diverse backgrounds, the meeting aims to offer concrete insights and inspiration to build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable musical environment.
The project is written and curated by Marina Vermiglio, project manager and head of JazzAble, as part of the initiatives promoted by Siena Jazz to support cultural growth and diversity in the contemporary music scene.
