The Siena Jazz Foundation is a non-profit cultural institution, originally founded as an association on September 9, 1977, restructured as a public-private mixed association on November 20, 1991, and finally transformed on November 18, 2005, into a foundation under the name Siena Jazz – National Academy of Jazz. From its inception, Siena Jazz has been committed to promoting, disseminating, and teaching jazz and its many high-quality contemporary derivations. The transformation into a foundation preserved the
original artistic vision and founding members: the Municipality of Siena, the Province of Siena, and the Associazione Jazzistica Senese.
