Useful information

Registrations are open from 10 March and applications will be accepted subject to availability.

For the registration to be considered valid, it is necessary to pay € 20 pre-registration which, in case of acceptance, will be deducted from the total amount of the registration.

To register, you need to connect to the NettunoPa portal and follow the following procedure:

  1. From the “Sorting” box choose “Seminars and Workshop”.
  2. From “Select course” choose the instrument course.
  3. On Course year specify “1” even if it is not the first time you attend the Siena Jazz Summer Workshops.
  4. On “Student type” select one of the following options:
    • external candidate: registration for students/musicians;
    • external candidate from selected conservatories: enrolment for students from all Italian conservatories;
    • external candidate listener only: registration as a listener.

The process will be completed when the candidate receives a confirmation of registration.
Only applications received through the NettunoPa portal will be accepted.

During the application phase it will be necessary for students to provide audio material proving their instrumental skills. To this end, candidates may insert the links relating to the registrations in the Section called “Student Statements.”
It is suggested to provide links to videos on Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, Wetransfer, or similar format, remembering that there must be 3 songs, possibly chosen from the following structures: Blues, Rhythm Changes, Standards, Modal Composition or other (the possibility of including an original song by the candidate is also contemplated).

Other attachments: please upload an identification document, scans of any qualifications, and posters and flyers of the concerts performed.

Candidates holding classical and/or jazz music diplomas can send:

  • a copy of the diploma or equivalent certificate;
  • certification of documented concert activity (concert posters, newspaper articles, or in their absence a self-certification of the musical activity carried out).

Those who do not have recognized academic qualifications can submit:

  • certification of documented musical studies;
  • certification of documented concert activity (concert posters, newspaper articles, or in their absence a self-certification of the musical activity carried out).

  • ordinary course fee of € 1000 (€ 20 during registration, € 980 to confirm enrollment once accepted by the commission);
  • course fee for SJU students and partner Italian and foreign Conservatories € 680;
  • listener course fee € 350.

Payment can be made through Pago PA within the Nettuno PA registration portal which will automatically generate the payment slip at the end of registration.

Siena Jazz will evaluate the applications received and notify applicants of the outcome of the application. Once a positive outcome of the application is received, the student has 7 days to make the fee payment and thus confirm the enrollment.
It is important to emphasize that a positive admission outcome and payment confirmation do not automatically guarantee participation in the workshops; participation will only be confirmed upon receipt of a subsequent confirmation email.
The pre-registration fee of € 20 will not be refunded in case of a negative application outcome.

Siena Jazz offers comprehensive logistical support to help enrolled students find suitable accommodation. The Housing Office provides valuable information, including contact details for guest houses, a list of available accommodations and beds at affiliated facilities in the historic center and nearby areas, as well as access to Student House (limited availability).

Students will be provided with a list of affiliated places to eat, including restaurants, trattorias, the university cafeteria, cafes, and more.
