{"id":21604,"date":"2026-03-25T11:49:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T10:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sienajazz.it\/?post_type=university&#038;p=21604"},"modified":"2026-03-25T11:49:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T10:49:22","slug":"requirements-2","status":"publish","type":"university","link":"https:\/\/www.sienajazz.it\/en\/university\/masters-degree-courses\/requirements-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Admission to Bachelor\u2019s Degree courses is subject to passing a specific entrance exam.<\/p>\n\n<p>Students who are not enrolled in other courses at the corresponding level may apply for courses. Candidates are eligible to take the exam if they have:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First level academic diploma, in the relevant school<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First level academic diploma, outside the reference school<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Old system diploma combined with the high school diploma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree or equivalent qualification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equivalent qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Any shortfalls identified during the entrance exam must be solved during the first year of study.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is not permitted to attend another Bachelor\u2019s Degree course simultaneously within AFAM institutions.<\/p>\n\n<p>Students wishing to attend both a university course and an academic course at accredited or authorized AFAM institutions must follow the procedures established by Ministerial Decree dated September 28, 2011.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h3\"><strong>Additional knowledge assessment tests<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Candidates in possession of a diploma from the old system, or a first-level academic diploma from outside the reference school, or a degree or equivalent qualification, will have to pass some additional tests to verify their knowledge, in the form of additional tests.<\/p>\n\n<p>The additional tests to the exams are aimed at ascertaining the level of knowledge and skills corresponding to that achieved by obtaining the first-level academic diploma at the relevant school.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h3\"><strong>Procedures to be followed by European and non-EU students<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading h4\">EU Foreign Students (regardless of residence)<\/h3>\n\n<p>EU students can apply for admission under the same conditions as Italian students, providing, where possible, a \u201cDiploma Supplement\u201d or appropriate documentation certifying prior studies, translated into Italian by the relevant diplomatic authorities.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading h4\">Non-EU Students Legally Residing in Italy<\/h3>\n\n<p>This category includes four types of students:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>1) Non-EU students with a residence permit, enrolled in other schools<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>May submit an admission application through the online system provided that:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They can prove they are enrolled and up to date with tuition payments at a <strong>peer institution<\/strong> (AFAM or university; the conservatory will assess the coherence with the previous course of study).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are compliant with their residence permit status.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p><strong><strong>2) Non-EU students with an Italian high school diploma<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>are considered equivalent to EU students.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong><strong>3) Non-EU students in Italy holding a residence permit for work (employed or self-employed), family reasons, political or humanitarian asylum, or religious reasons<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>May apply directly via the online system, provided that: <br\/>Their academic qualifications have been validated by the competent Italian Diplomatic Authorities abroad, <br\/>And they have received a \u201cDichiarazione di Valore\u201d (Statement of Value) issued by the Italian Diplomatic Authority for the region where the qualification was obtained.<\/p>\n\n<p>These students are also subject to quotas and must pass the Italian language test before taking the music exams.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong><strong>4) Non-EU students residing in an EU country with a university qualification from a European institution<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>May apply directly by submitting either a Diploma Supplement or a Statement of Value issued by the relevant Italian Diplomatic Authority.<\/p>\n\n<p>These students are also subject to quotas and must pass the Italian language test before taking the music exams.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading h4\">Non-EU Students Residing Abroad<\/h3>\n\n<p>These students must follow these procedures:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>1) <strong>Contact the nearest Italian Diplomatic Representation.<\/strong> <\/strong>Non-EU students MUST NOT register online, but must go to the local Italian Diplomatic Representation to initiate the pre-enrollment procedure (it is recommended that all procedures be done in time to be sure of being able to make admissions on the dates indicated). The offices in charge, will arrange for the translation and legalization of the titles and the issuance of the prescribed &#8220;Declaration of Value&#8221; by the Italian Diplomatic Representation.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>2) <strong>Wait for confirmation email from Siena Jazz:<\/strong><\/strong> <br\/>After receiving notification from the Diplomatic Authorities, the Siena Jazz Academic Office will send all candidates a confirmation email by July 1, with further instructions (exam dates, exam fee payment, etc.).<\/p>\n\n<p><strong><strong>3) Wait for visa issuance and collect documents:<\/strong> <\/strong>The Diplomatic Authority will electronically transmit the student&#8217;s information to Siena Jazz (June\/July), issue the visa by the end of August, and return all documents to the student before departure to Italy.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>4) <strong>Before arriving<\/strong> <strong>in Italy, and only after receiving all necessary documentation from the Italian Diplomatic Authority<\/strong><\/strong>, the student must:<\/p>\n\n<p>\u2013 submit the fully completed ADMISSION FORM for the desired course;<\/p>\n\n<p>\u2013 pay the \u20ac<strong>100.00<\/strong> application fee via the dedicated <strong>NettunoPA<\/strong> platform.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>To take the entrance exam, candidates must complete the online procedure through the NettunoPA portal available at<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/registroelettronico.nettunopa.it\/ammissioni\/?id=118001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">THIS LINK<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>5) Upon<\/strong> <strong>arrival in Italy, <\/strong>the student must:<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; Go to the Siena Jazz Academic Office to submit the consular documentation;<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; Apply for a residence permit at the Siena Police Headquarters (Questura) within 8 working days of arriving in Italy.<\/p>\n\n<p>For more information about the residence permit, consult this link: <br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poliziadistato.it\/articolo\/view\/225\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.poliziadistato.it\/articolo\/view\/225\/ <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":18875,"menu_order":5,"template":"","class_list":["post-21604","university","type-university","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Requirements - Siena Jazz<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sienajazz.it\/en\/university\/masters-degree-courses\/requirements-2\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Requirements - Siena Jazz\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Admission to Bachelor\u2019s Degree courses is subject to passing a specific entrance exam.
