{"id":18909,"date":"2025-04-04T15:48:38","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T13:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sienajazz.it\/university\/student-contribution-regulation\/"},"modified":"2025-10-29T10:34:49","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T09:34:49","slug":"student-contribution-regulation","status":"publish","type":"university","link":"https:\/\/www.sienajazz.it\/en\/university\/student-contribution-regulation\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Contribution Regulation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 1 \u2013 Educational Offer<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Siena Jazz is a non-profit cultural institution, founded as an Association on 9 September 1977 and re-established as a mixed public-private Association on 20 November 1991. In 1995, it obtained legal personality from the Region of Tuscany. In 2017, the statute and name were updated and modified, becoming the \u201cSiena Jazz \u2013 National Jazz Academy\u201d Association. This change preserved the same historical objectives of the original Association, the same artistic project \u2013 albeit evolving with the times \u2013 as well as the same founding members: Municipality of Siena, Province of Siena, and the Siena Jazz Association.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Siena Jazz has also been recognized as a Training Agency, accredited by the Region of Tuscany, with Decree D.D.R.T. No. 1281 of 20\/03\/06.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Regional Decree No. 3342 of 12\/03\/2019, the institute\u2019s accreditation was confirmed and authorized for the following three-year period 2019\u20132021. In 2000, and subsequently confirmed in 2008 and 2015, Siena Jazz obtained certification of its Quality Management System in compliance with UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 for the activity of: \u201cDesign and delivery of music training services, advanced professional post-diploma training, and international master\u2019s programs.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Ministerial Decree No. 193 of 10 November 2011, Siena Jazz became the first non-state music institution in Italy authorized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) to issue Higher Education in Art and Music (AFAM) qualifications for the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Academic Diploma in: Electric Bass, Jazz Drums and Percussion, Jazz Singing, Jazz Guitar, Jazz Clarinet, Jazz Double Bass, Jazz Piano, Jazz Saxophone, Jazz Trumpet, Jazz Trombone.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the ministerial decree, Siena Jazz launched, starting from the Academic Year 2012\u20132013, three-year Diploma courses in higher music education called: \u201cSJU \u2013 Siena Jazz University.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These courses have full legal value, equivalent to a university bachelor\u2019s degree, and are therefore legally recognized in Italy and throughout the European Union.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, with Ministerial Decree D.D. No. 3315 of 13 December 2018, Siena Jazz Academy was also authorized to award Higher Education in Music Bachelor\u2019s Academic Diplomas for the same fields as the three-year diplomas. These Master\u2019s Degree Academic Diplomas are likewise legally valid qualifications equivalent to a university master\u2019s degree. This represents a historic achievement, opening up a series of highly significant national and international educational and cultural opportunities for the institution. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its foundation, Siena Jazz has been committed to promoting, disseminating, and teaching jazz music and its numerous contemporary derivatives of quality, specializing since 1989 in three main areas: teaching, production, and research.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operational headquarters is located in the Medici Fortress, where Siena Jazz carries out its activities in a facility of over 1.200 sq. m., equipped with 21 modern teaching classrooms, a sound archive, a library, and a laboratory. These constitute the \u201cArrigo Polillo\u201d National Jazz Studies Center, the institution\u2019s dedicated research section.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to its current educational offer, the Academy organizes the historic \u201cSiena Jazz International Summer Seminars.\u201d It has also activated further educational activities throughout the Academic Year, such as the \u201cCFM Siena\u201d Advanced Music Training Courses, Basic Pre-Academic Courses, Permanent Music Research Laboratories (LPRM) for professionals and semi-professionals, masterclasses, and other forms of training in constant evolution. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This regulation applies exclusively to tuition fees and contributions for the Higher Education in Art and Music courses, \u201cSJU \u2013 Siena Jazz University,\u201d offered for the achievement of Bachelor\u2019s Degree Academic Diplomas (authorized with Ministerial Decree No. 193 of 10 November 2011) and Master\u2019s Degree Academic Diplomas (authorized with Ministerial Decree D.D. No. 3315 of 13 December 2018).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Students contribute to covering service costs through the payment of tuition fees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 2 \u2013 Amounts and deadlines of the student contribution<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All payments must be documented at the time of submitting the application relating to the individual situation, therefore applications without proof of payment will not be accepted.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payment can be made in a single instalment, or divided into three instalments according to the maturity dates shown below.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payment divided into three instalments (see Art. 3.1a or 3.1b for the three-year period or 3.2a or 3.2b for the two-year period)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The payment of the first instalment (such as the one-time instalment) must be demonstrated at the time of registration \/ or renewal of registration.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The useful periods for the renewal of registrations and registrations are as follows:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s degree courses enrolment following the admission exam: 13 September<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewal of enrolment in the second or third year of the Bachelor\u2019s degree course and in the second year of the Master\u2019s degree course: no later than 1 September<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewal of enrolment for students of the Bachelor\u2019s and the Master\u2019s degree course \u201cfuoricorso\u201d (outside prescribed times), attending the courses: September 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewal of enrolment for students of the Bachelor\u2019s and the Master\u2019s degree course \u201cfuoricorso\u201d (outside prescribed times), not attending courses: December 15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration and enrolment in the years following the first are subject to the simultaneous documentary attestation of payment of the single fee or the first instalment of attendance.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second instalment (see Art. 3.1a or 3.1b for the Three-Year Term or 3.2a or 3.2b for the Two-Year Term)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline for payment of the second instalment is set at 15 January of each Academic Year.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third instalment ((see Art. 3.1a or 3.1b for the Three-Year Term or 3.2a or 3.2b for the Two-Year Term)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline for payment of the third instalment is set at 15 April of each Academic Year.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 3 \u2013 Costs, deadlines and methods of payment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration fee for the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Course for the Academic Year 2022\/2023:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For Italian and European Community students enrolling in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Course, it is \u20ac 2.800.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For non-EU students, the registration fee for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Course, is \u20ac 3.500.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3.1a Costs and deadlines for European Union students enrolled in the Bachelor\u2019s Degree course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Payment in lump sum, no later than 1 September 2022, for students enrolled in the first year and no later than 15 September 2021 for students enrolled in the second or third year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fractional payment in three instalments:<ul><li>First instalment of \u20ac 1.400, at the time of enrolment, no later than 1 September 2025, for students enrolled in the first year and no later than 15 September 2025 for students enrolled in the second or third year.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Second instalment of \u20ac 700, no later than January 15, 2026<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Third instalment of \u20ac 700, no later than April 15, 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3.1b Costs and deadlines for non-EU students enrolled in the Bachelor\u2019s Degree course:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Payment in lump sum, no later than 1 September 2025, for students enrolled in the first year and no later than 15 September 2025 for students enrolled in the second or European Union students enrolled in the Master\u2019s Degree Courses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One-off payment no later than 1 September 2025 for students enrolled in the first year and no later than 15 September 2025 for students enrolled in the second year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment divided into three instalments, with these deadlines:<ul><li>First instalment of \u20ac 1.650, at the time of enrolment, no later than September 1, 2025, for students enrolled in the first year and no later than September 15, 2025 for students enrolled in the second year.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Second instalment of \u20ac 825, no later than January 15, 2026.<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> Third instalment of \u20ac 825, no later than April 15, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3.2b Costs and deadlines for non-EU students enrolled in the Master\u2019s Degree courses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Payment in lump sum no later than<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on September 1, 2025 for students enrolled in the first year and no later than September 15, 2025 for students enrolled in the second year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment divided into three instalments, with these deadlines:<ul><li>First instalment of \u20ac 2.500, at the time of enrolment, no later than September 1, 2025, methods<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The payment of the annual tuition fee, either in a single instalment or in three instalments, must be made through the NettunoPA platform by all students enrolled in the Three-Year Bachelor Program (Triennio) or the Two-Year Master Program (Biennio).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3.4 Summary Table of Procedures<br\/>This table summarizes deadlines, enrolment periods, admission applications, registrations, and attendance for the regular duration of the study program. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td rowspan=\"2\"><p><strong>Registration for the 1st A.A.<\/strong>, <strong>for the three-year<\/strong> period is \u20ac 2.800 and <strong>for the two-year<\/strong> period \u20ac 3.300 In both cases it can be paid in a single instalment. These are partial scholarships, corresponding to 50% of the entire enrolment fee for the course. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5.1 Scholarships for Bachelor\u2019s Degree Course students.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scholarship is \u20ac 1,400 and concerns the exemption of the payment of the 2nd instalment of attendance of \u20ac 700 due on January 15 and the 3rd instalment of attendance of \u20ac 700 due on April 15.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Siena Jazz may also award up to six partial scholarships, corresponding to \u20ac 700, to students of clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, electric bass and double bass who have achieved at least a 26\/30 mark in the entrance exam.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These scholarships correspond to the exemption from payment of the 2nd frequency instalment of \u20ac 700 due on January 15.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5.2 Scholarships for students of the Master\u2019s Degree Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scholarship is \u20ac 1.650 and concerns the exemption of the payment of the 2nd instalment of attendance of \u20ac 825 due on January 15 and the 3rd instalment of attendance of \u20ac 825 due on April 15.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Siena Jazz may also award up to six partial scholarships, corresponding to \u20ac 825, to students of clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, electric bass and double bass who have achieved at least a 26\/30 mark in the entrance exam.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These scholarships correspond to the exemption from payment of the 2nd frequency instalment of \u20ac 825 due on January 15, 2022. (If still active update the date with the correct year) <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5.3 Duration of Scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scholarships granted are valid only for the year of assignment and the 1st instalment of attendance (or the single annual fee) must be paid regularly by all students according to the deadline reported.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5.4 Other exemptions and\/or reductions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following are exempt from the frequency quota:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foreign students receiving a scholarship from the Italian Government within the framework of development cooperation programmes and intergovernmental cultural and scientific agreements and related executive programmes. In the years following the first one, the exemption is conditional on the renewal of the scholarship by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other case approved by the CD in which the same, on the basis of adequate and serious reasons, properly documented, has recognized the need for exemption or reduction of attendance fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 6 \u2013 Return of fees paid to the Academy<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The refund of the amount paid by way of contribution and administrative charges is allowed in the following cases:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Payment not due<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment made multiple times by mistake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Administration may, subject to the favourable opinion of the interested party, recognise a credit to be deducted from the contributions still due, also relating to the following Academic Year. The student is required to prove payment. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 7 \u2013 Suspension, waiver, forfeiture, career reactivation, transfer.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7.1 Discontinuation from studies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who, in compliance with the payments, decide to request the possibility of suspending themselves from the course can do so by sending the &#8220;REQUEST FOR SUSPENSION&#8221; form to the Management in the period from 30 July to 30 August. Management will respond within ten days of receipt of the request. During the period of suspension of studies, the student is not required to pay any form of payment.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7.2 Career reactivation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time of career reactivation, following the suspension, the student must send the &#8220;CAREER REACTIVATION&#8221; form in the period from 30 July to 30 August of the last Academic Year for which he\/she obtained the suspension.&#8221; The student must also pay \u20ac 50 by 30 August for each of the authorised years of suspension, except in the following cases:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>That the suspension was requested for the year of birth of each child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That the suspension was requested due to serious and prolonged illnesses duly certified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The payment of the attendance fee resulting from the reactivation of the career will follow the normal payment times of the reactivated course.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7.3 Withdrawal from studies and recognition of studies following withdrawal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The student who intends to give up their studies can do so at any time of the Academic Year by filling out the &#8220;RESIGNATION FROM STUDIES&#8221; form and this does not involve any form of payment.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event that the student renounces their studies, they are not entitled to reimbursement of any type of fee or contribution. The student enrolled in the three-year or two-year period who, after giving up their studies, has been admitted to continue their career, following the passing of the new entrance exam and the consequent re-enrolment, and requests the recognition of their studies, is required to pay a contribution of \u20ac 150 for each of the years from the interruption to the resumption of their studies. In the event of re-registration, any recognition of the credits acquired is carried out by the competent educational structure after verification of their non-obsolescence.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7.4 Forfeiture and recognition of studies following forfeiture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lo studente che sia stato dichiarato decaduto e voglia, in seguito al superamento del nuovo esame di ammissione e alla conseguente re-immatricolazione, chieda la ricognizione degli studi, dovr\u00e0 versare un contributo pari a \u20ac 150,00 per ognuno degli anni che intercorrono dall\u2019interruzione alla ripresa degli studi.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7.5 Recognition of studies for reasons not related to re-enrolment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The student who has been declared forfeited and wishes, following the passing of the new entrance exam and the consequent re-enrolment, to request the recognition of studies, must pay a contribution of \u20ac 150 for each of the years that elapse from the interruption to the resumption of studies.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7.6<\/strong> <strong>Outbound Transfer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who request the outgoing transfer by July 31, 2026, will be ex officio exempted from paying the first attendance fee for the following year. The authorization of the transfer request will in any case be subject to the regular payment of the attendance fees for the current Academic Year. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The student must pay \u20ac 150 for administrative charges related to the transfer practice.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 8 \u2013 \u201cFuoricorso\u201d Students (students who have not completed the exams within set time period)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The student who, despite having completed the years of the regular duration of the course of study, has not acquired the academic training credits necessary to be admitted to take the Thesis exam, may use up to three additional Academic Years to complete the training course by assuming the qualification of &#8220;fuoricorso student&#8221;. In this case, depending on your position towards the exams or eligibility still to be completed, you will have to follow the following procedures: <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><br\/><p>Recalling that the institution grants members of the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Course a maximum of six years to complete the regulatory training course, therefore \u201cfuoricorso\u201d registration for the Bachelor\u2019s Degree Course is possible up to a maximum of three years. opportunity to make these choices:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>enrolment in the Instrument<\/strong>, after specifying in the appropriate form which instrument you want to enroll in, you must pay \u20ac 2,000 at one time by September 15 or you can divide the fee into two instalments, the first of 1,500 by September 15 and the second instalment of \u20ac 500 by January<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enrolment in a theoretical-practical subject<\/strong>, after specifying in the appropriate module which subject you intend to enroll in, you must pay \u20ac 500 at one time by September 15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Article 10 \u2013 <\/strong><strong>Requests for exemption<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All students from other University courses and\/or from Italian or foreign Conservatories, can send by email to the address: didattica.sju@sienajazz.it, the application form &#8220;CREDIT RECOGNITION FOR EXEMPTION APPLICATION&#8221; correctly completed <strong>no later than September 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commission for exemptions and the relative attribution of training credits will communicate by <strong>October 10<\/strong> the acceptance or not of any required exemptions indicating the types of exemptions issued (complete exemption, both of the attendance and of the exam, exemption from attendance only, exemption from the end-of-course evaluation only).
