 .::Live auditions program

The ideal candidate for the Master Program needs to show:
    • commitment in pursuing music studies;
    • open-minded attitude to the music world;
    • personal maturity and good spirit for team work;
    • good sight-reading skills;
    • ability in communicating in English (able to actively partecipate in individual and group lessons with international instructors);


    In particolar the admission exam for each individual instrument will consist of:

    SAXOPHONES (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone)
      Brief interview.
      Performance with rhythmic section of one or two tunes chosen by the audiotion committee and one tune chosen by the candidate. All tunes are included within the Repertoire List for Auditions.
      During the individual instrumental performance, the Audition Committee will ask detailed questions pertaing to technical and theoretical aspects of the tunes played.
      The accompanying rhythmic session will consist of piano, double bass and drums.

    TRUMPET AND TROMBONE
      Brief interview.
      Performance with rhythmic section of one or two tunes chosen by the audiotion committee and one tune chosen by the candidate. All tunes are included within the Repertoire List for Auditions.
      During the individual instrumental performance, the Audition Committee will ask detailed questions pertaing to technical and theoretical aspects of the tunes played.
      The accompanying rhythmic session will consist of piano, double bass and drums.

    GUITAR
      Brief interview.
      Performance with rhythmic section of one or two tunes chosen by the audiotion committee and one tune chosen by the candidate. All tunes are included within the Repertoire List for Auditions.
      During the individual instrumental performance, the Audition Committee will ask detailed questions pertaing to technical and theoretical aspects of the tunes played.
      The accompanying rhythmic session will consist of double bass and drums.

    PIANO
      Brief interview.
      Performance with rhythmic section of one or two tunes chosen by the audiotion committee and one tune chosen by the candidate. All tunes are included within the Repertoire List for Auditions.
      During the individual instrumental performance, the Audition Committee will ask detailed questions pertaing to technical and theoretical aspects of the tunes played.

    DOUBLE BASS
      Brief interview.
      Performance with rhythmic section of one or two tunes chosen by the audiotion committee and one tune chosen by the candidate. All tunes are included within the Repertoire List for Auditions.
      During the individual instrumental performance, the Audition Committee will ask detailed questions pertaing to technical and theoretical aspects of the tunes played.
      The accompanying rhythmic session will consist of piano and drums.

    DRUMS
      Brief interview.
      Performance with rhythmic section of one or two tunes chosen by the audition committee and one tune chosen by the candidate. All tunes are included in the Repertoire List Of Auditions.
      The accompanying rhythmic session will consist of piano and double bass.

    Please note that during the individual performance the candidate wil be asked to play:

    • Unaccompanied performance
      o Play a groove swing at slow, medium and fast tempos with drumsticks.
      o Play a groove swing at slow, medium and fast tempos with brushes.

    • Solo
      o Play a blues of 12 measures at tempo with progression from slow to medium and to fast tempo, alterning choruses between regular tempo and solo only 6 choruses.
      o Play the following grooves: New Orleans, Funky, 6/8 Afro-Cubano, Bossa Nova.
